I use Acronis to make complete images. It's pretty cheap ($40 or so). It 
can be set for automated backups to a network drive so I backup to a 
samba share. The samba share is then copied (among other things) to a 
removable backup hard drive. I've restored these complete images in 
about 30 minutes before. Their quite nice.
