Segfaults

Update: After a week of failed installations, I finally got Caldera 1.3 up
and running on my Pentium Pro. It took 2 days, off and on, to get
X configured properly, but that also succeeded, giving me a nice
KDE to try as a user, and the Afterstep "looking glass" interface
as root.
The failed installs included: Debian (again - but this time not
segfaults, but "paging errors" and a kernel panic) - Corel (also
a Debian - never got beyond first boot from floppy screen - light
on floppy drive stayed on - no disk activity whatsoever) - Mandrake
6.0 (interrupt handler faults), and Caldera 2.3 (installed, but crashed
on reboot - no indication of what was wrong).
Perseverance and patience were at an end, almost! But when the
Caldera 1.3 installed, I was a happy camper, because I can use
the Pentium Pro now with my very fine HP Pavilion monitor, and
try a different distribution than Red Hat.
I've got Red Hat 5.1 on the second disk, and I put LILO on the
MBR this time, and can thus boot into both. - Grandma (whew!!!)
PS - on the failed Corel, I did make another boot floppy, thinking
the floppy that came in the dist was bad - but it didn't work either.
