config question

My son's Win9$ machine finally bit the dust and wouldn't boot into Win.
Not a real problem as he had earlier requested I put Linux onto it.
The WinModem won't work in RedHat 6.2 (i'm not too disappointed) so I
setup the spouse with instructions on using MY Linux box with an
external modem.  (why not the other one?...it only has one serial port,
used for the trackball...mine has two, one each for trackball & modem)

This is okay, she's learning, not used to a slower machine but glad to
be online.  The things we do for the Boss!

QUESTION:
How (in RH-6.2) do I change the pixmap of the default mouse cursor from
the ever-present X to anything else?  I'm using KDE with KWM and am not
afraid to get my hands dirty.
