These are good for following stories and see a snapshot to what is out
there in trends as well as specifiic issues like cryptography. Counterpane
has had some good stories on their site, and they have been fun to
read as have the articles linked from linux security.

One of the plusses of the above article is that it includes links to
system additions to improve system security with tools "off the shelf" in
a short one-shot article, while plusses of the site of counterpane and
linux security seem to go into greater detail and pull from experts from
many sub-fields in system security.

Certainly, nobody should expect system security to be completed by
following information from one article, but it is a place for the
beginner to start.

Perhaps someone would want to lead a presentaton on system security at
NBLUG?

your LUG that might be willing to come to NBLUG?
