sourceforge.net

Many projects are "controlled" or maintained there. You can see in an
open forusm, bugs that have been reported, to whom they have been
assigned, when they were assigned, how long/outstanding they have been
at issue.

As for viruses, there is an opensource virus scanning system, but it is
far from the 99% claimed by many anti-virus systems.
http://www.openantivirus.org/

(You can also search for virus scanners on freshmeat)
http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=antivirus&section=projects

These can be useful in doing research on responsiveness from opensource
community people on various projects and status on anti-virus stuff.

HTH. :-)
