Jim -

I have the internal Sony DRU-510A, but it is running on my Windoze box
and I am using Nero software. Due to my digital photography passion and
6 MB images, I had to get something that held more than 650 MB.
Currently I am using it as +R - not because I made a decision based on
research - rather it was because those were the disks I bought :-) .
Later, I find that there are some formatting advantages for the +RW (I
do not have to format the whole disk first). However, I have not found
a really good use for 4.7 GB RW DVD's other than testing a burn before
putting it on a +R disk.

For backups, I use removable HD's plus having my data HD RAIDed - the
DVD is just too slow.
