actually, i'm not sure what eric was referring to - this is the first i've
heard of this (so far as i can remember, at least.)

i can say that i've been working with the networking group on campus to help
them develop some wireless sniffing tools that are easy for them to use and
don't cost a lot (ie, helping them switch from expensive tools from sniffer
to linux-based tools.)  the policy in the dorms is no wireless
ap's...period.  studnets are certainly allowed to have wireless cards, but
only for use in conjunction with university-provided ap's.  i agree with
mike - i don't want to help students break the rules and have our privleges
revoked.
