Hello,

The topic for August was going to be setting up home networks and how they
can be used, but the original plans fell-through.

A month ago, I asked you all to send me information on what you thought
were "kewl" Linux applications that were not part of a basic Linux system.
Many people responded. The feedback was excellent! All votes have been
counted.

I had an idea for August; ask people to offer really short or "mini"
presentations on useful Linux applications.

Here is a list of apps that were claimed as the most useful
(beyond the standard apps) in order of rank (top=most votes)

1 GIMP
2 mplayer
3 Xchat
4 Gaim
5 xv
6 xmms
7 kismet
8 xine
9 OpenOffice
10 gpg

(There were many more items than these above, but the above were most
popular by frequency of submission.)
