Yes, isn't that just silly?

But I don't believe that you can connect to the same server
simultaneously using more than one username.  A workaround to this is to
add a server alias to the Linux samba's smb.conf:

netbios aliases = tux2

Then you can connect to each "different server" with a separate
user/pass.

That doesn't help Bob any, but I think it's useful to know.  BTW, I've
used samba extensively for several years now, and I think it's an
exceptional, reliable piece of software.  I've had some frustrating
samba experiences, but with one exception they've always been my fault.
