[NBLUG/talk] Hot Swap SATA

Anybody have any experience with this. I've got the setup, and can hot
swap out one drive and then swap it back in with no problems. This
involves mounting and removing or adding the drive in /proc/scsi/scsi. But
I'm getting problems when I pull one drive and put another in. I have
three drives and their identical. I'm wondering if the system is thinking
it's the same drive and then finding that not everythings in the same
place. The drives are 250gb maxtors formated ext3.

Looks to me like the whole SATA interface is setup to functionally mirror
SCSI under linux.

Of course the hammer and nail solution is to shutdown between swaps, but
I'd rather have a nice uptime.

Thankfull for any help.
