When I switch people over it usually goes best when I give them wubi,
then symlink the whole "my" dirs to the Ubuntu dirs (eg My Documents
to Documents, etc). Iirc wubi mounts the windows fs inside ubuntu by
default so you just have to set up the symlinks and install a couple
of packages and people are generally pretty good.
