I forget the source, but the story goes that a user had trouble with a
fresh software install not working. Support asked for a copy of the disks
to test for compatibility. Support received nice, crisp images of the
install disks through the fax.

That was enough to debug the issue. The user was trying to install an old,
unsupported version.
