I would check out ubuntu if I were you. Its probably the best distro for beginners. It has a "restricted drivers manager" for installing things like video cards, wireless cards, and printers. It also has a program called synaptec for downloading and installing files from depos. There are also many good programs out there for ubuntu that dont work with other distros such as Automatix2 which automatically downloads and installs esential software. all you have to do is check the boxes and click go :) gl and hope to hear back from you
