A few point releases of RHEL/CentOS.  That (supposedly) fixed the 
problems I was having where it would crash the system when attempting a 
volume snapshot.  Even then, it was always the second or third snapshot 
on a volume.

I still haven't revisited it yet to see if it's stable enough for any of 
my (or my client's) uses, the whole event kind of soured me on the 
snapshot issue.

That said, I'm sure there are other *NIX's with LVM implementations that 
have working snapshot support, and I figured it was worth mentioning 
anyways as a cheap (equivalent) implementation of what Rob suggested.
