Last update, I promise ;)

I got snmp/snmpd working on both systems, shown by each box
successfully querying itself (got "snmpwalk ... systemUpTime"). The
problem is that the vmware server can't query the guest OS, and I get
a timed out error.

The systems can communicate with each other aside from this, and both
get online. Neither one has a software firewall installed or anywhere
in between, and snmp is blocked at the gateway router/firewall so only
local systems can grab snmp data.

Any suggestions?
