Yes, install Mandrake7.1.
I just finished a successfull install on a Dell Lattitude (Dual-boot with
Win2000 pro) after fighting to try to get RH6.2 to install (install always
crashed at post-install config settings)
I gave up on RH, threw in a freebie Mandrake GPL edition and the install
was a breeze! No problem with Xwin coming up at all - might need a slight
tweak though from chosen default.
It even seemed to detect SCSI, although I haven't tested it yet.
Be sure to check the Dell entries on the Linux on Laptops page, I'm sure
they have specs for your model.
