Which flavor of Linux

debian is nice for a minimilist system. i know i put it on my gateway 
handbook which could only handle a very minimal install. (500meg HD, 4megs 
RAM, 486) and i was able to do it all with about 10 floppies. (which was my 
only media available to me.)
