USB -> ethernet adapters?

Problems:

USB bandwidth ~= 400Kb/s
Ethernet bandwitdth == 10-100 Mb/s, or 25-250 times as great.

USB is also poorly supported under linux.  (Yes, I know there are 
USB drivers in 2.4, but not much talks to them that I know of anyway.)
