Is Mandrake known to have any problems on AMD systems?

System type rpms, including X are often distribution specific, and
dangerous to mix. Random standalone programs often work, and there is
no harm in trying rpms from other distributions if the worst that can
happen is it won't work. Mandrake/redhat/turbo are all very similar.
SuSE is a little different, but RPMS often still work if you get the
right library version. SuSE 6.X and RedHat 5.X rpms seemed to play well
together, so do Turbo and Redhat 6. RedHat 7 is a bastard version
because of gcc, so not much else may work with it.
