Hey all..

For those who attended last month's meeting on 802.11b wireless networking
under linux, you might be interested in this. SofTECH is a pretty cool
group...more with a business focus than a tech focus, though.

I'm going to try to be there just to finally get a real-life demo.

Subject: Resend of Message on Bluetooth Demo at SofTECH

At SofTECH's next general meeting, Wed., Mar. 28, witness a live demonstration of how Bluetooth wireless technology will enable users to connect a wide range of computing and telecommunications devices easily and simply, without the need to buy, carry, or connect cables.

Presenter is Robert Graham, Toshiba's brand manager for wireless products. He is an authority on the current and future applications of the Bluetooth wireless technology and their impact on consumers. Graham will talk about this cutting-edge technology which enables users to interconnect their household appliances, cell phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, and laptop computers.

The technology creates the possibility of using mobile data in a different way for different applications such as "Surfing on the sofa", "The instant postcard", "Three in one phone" and many others. It will allow people to think about what they are working on, rather than how to make their technology work. Software developers and equipment manufacturers can find more information by visiting www.bluetooth.com web site of the Bluetooth SIG.

Better yet, come to Graham's presentation and demo next Wed.

The first 100 attendees will receive an authentic, Bluetooth T-shirt.

Many thanks to Donovan Rittenbach, SofTECH Program Chair and Principal at Neko Media for arranging Robert Graham's appearance - and the T-shirts.

Another goodie, while they last, copies of: "Bluetooth - Wireless Communications and Embedded Systems of Today" a booklet produced by EE Times. Many thanks to Robert Zickwolff, National Sales Manager, Custom Solutions, CMP Media Electronics Group.
