Linux/40 GB IDE disk?

The newer versions of fdisk support large drives.. It may be possible to
use a newer version of fdisk in the 5.2 install. Try using a new version of
fdisk from another (smaller) IDE drive to partition the disk instead of the
stock copy that comes with the 5.2 installation. I think the 5.2
installation will support large drives.

Subject: Linux/40 GB IDE disk?

Dear NBLUGers,

I've had the happy occasion to have a new, empty, 40GB IDE disk drop in my
lap. My PhoenixBios seems to see it OK. However, my RH 5.2 Linux 'fdisk'
(v2.8) thinks it's only 8GB big.

Will a new distribution do well for me? Any suggestions for taking the
best advantage of my windfall? Any thoughts on setting up for dual
booting with Win2000?

Thanks,

Jeff Miller
