somewhere in the mandrake 8.2 lifecycle printing just stopped working,
i was hoping it would all just magically work when i upgraded to 9.0,
of course i was wrong.
the printer is on a win98 SMB share, and i can print from smbclient,
but not from the mandrake default printing system, CUPS. the only
relevent cups error i can see in /var/log/cups/error.log is:
Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...: Success
i'm not opposed to switching methods, i've heard people speak
unfavorably of CUPS, and i don't really care what i use as long as i
can print over the network to an smb share.
any help or pointers much appreciated.
