One of the reasons I suggested modification of the DNS, is that a
multi-homed web server may accept the connection by IP, but if multiple
names exist, then you have no guarantee that the page s7you see will
actualy be the ones you wanted from the web server.

Also, by modifying the DNS used by the client, the end user can navigate
the nblug website to view the content they originally wanted to visit
while they wait for their ISP to fix things. Also, you may notice that
when you connect up to the server by IP address, many links show up as
"http://www.nblug.org/" instead of the original IP address that was
used. This makes navigation rather tricky, as the user (assuming DNS
resolution issues) must manually type in links substituting the IP for
the name. :-(

Later in the doc, I suggest using nslookup or dig against their ISP's
DNS to further do some checking.
