[NBLUG/talk] reporting a bug in a major distro

What if I told you that I had found a huge bug in a major distro.
What if I told you that anyone with an upstream connection could use
this bug and root boxes downstream?

What would be your opinion on the correct way to report it?

It's just a discussion, even though I think I may have just done this.
Just interested in conversation on a saturday night....
