I would go with JBoss and Tomcat.

I installed both a while back and played with them a bit. However I have
had little need for EJB, and do not build J2EE apps at the moment. So I
am not much help to your current dilemma. However many use that
combination and you should be able to find docs covering their install.

I would recommend installing each separately. Once you can confirm each
works on their own. Then work on getting them to play together.
