I disagree with this last part. Though grub does appear to be easier than
LILO, one of the biggest reasons GRUB has not completely replaced LILO is
that LILO can actually do more than grub. There are many "special cases"
where grub fails to offer options that are available to LILO.

What I usually say is try grub first and if for some reason you cannot
make grub work with your system, then try LILO.
