[NBLUG/talk] Red Hat Install issues

I had a similiar situation happen to me. I had to make sure the hard disk
was completely wiped, I think I ended up replacing the hdd. I know I tried a
different set of Linux cd's and that may have been the problem (a bad burn
of cd's, or the local cdrom could not read the install cd, and then it
couldnt read like disc 2, the it could not read disc 3). If that doesnt
help, the notebook may not be able to be enumerated because of system
bios/design issues. You may want to check to see if there is a bios update
or not for your notebook. You may want to try rescue mode then run fdisk to
see if it can even see the hard disk (fdisk /dev/hda).
Believe it or not, Linux wont run on everything. There is hardware
that is so bad in design, that it will only be able to run that MS stuff.

Use the TAB key to select which option you would like, then press ENTER.
Probably safe to do a media check.
