Two lines at the top of the message?  Life is tough.  If they don't want
to read the lines below you signature they don't have to.

I found one of your postings and the mime encoding is done correctly.
It looks fine using tin.  Their newsreader is broken.

However mime attachments are considered a major faux pas in most
non-binary newsgroups.

Just post as plain text.  Tell your friend to get a life.
