In addition to the good advice you've already received (Frank's scp
suggestion being a great one, it keeps your password secure, whereas
plain FTP does not), keep in mind that Konqueror is an ftp client:

Put the following ftp URL in the location field:

ftp://stevetux@ftp.sonic.net/home/WWW_pages/stevetux

You'll be prompted for your password, then you're in. Now you can just
drag & drop files.
