[NBLUG/talk] home dir weirdness, help?

So I just mounted a new harddrive as my home dir.
I copied everything over with everything from permissions to atimes.

So everything is working just fine except one thing.

when I open any shell, eterm, xterm, etc

my cwd is always /home/

So even though when I type `cd` I am put into /home/error/ I wonder what
could cause this.

Clearly my home dir is setup correctly.
It's the same in every respect except now the filesytem is ReiserFS.
The strange thing is that /home works just fine and so does my home dir.

It's not a permissions problem.
I can't see why this would happen.

any ideas?
