I'm 100% Linux at home (100% Debian as of Sunday). I've had a Sonic
ADSL for 2 or 3 years now (the mind is hazy).
After I signed up for DSL they sent me a letter with my IP address,
nameservers, and gateway. I had my linux firewall box all configured
and ready to go before the installer showed up. The installer hooked up
the DSL line, but didn't even want to see my linux box. He turned
around to get his laptop and I plugged the ethernet into my linux box
and I was on the air. They have had a few brief (10 minute) outages,
but the uptime has been excellent.
Static IP, no PPPoe, run whatever servers you want. They have excellent
newgroups servers, 80MB of disc space, shell server with ssh1, ftp
directory, web page, and cgi all included. They monitor several of
their sonic.net newsgroups and answer questions. What more could you
want?
