If you subscribe to GRPS service on your GSM phone, you would be able to
send and recieve data from anywhere with GSM coverage. The cell-phone
company will then charge for the traffic used (per MB).

Nokia has a PC card that does this, the D311. The price is about $500 as
far as I know, and Nokia is a good company for celluar products. I haven't
tried myself, but I am considering it for traveling purposes.

So far, no support for Linux, but give it time ;) If nothing else, the
