Yes, GATEWAY=IP.add.re.ss
GATEWAYDEV= can be a device like eth0

GATEWAYDEV isn't always necessary, but it doesn't hurt.

In /etc/resolv.conf I have this:

domain efball.com (replace with your internal network domain name)
search sonic.net
nameserver 208.201.224.11
nameserver 208.201.224.33
