Probably because you are using an email address that is not subscribed.
All messages to the talk list that are not from subscribers are subject
to approval before being allowed through.

Approval or denial happens on a per message basis by the moderators.
There are only a few of us who actually moderate those messages, and we
are all busy people. Also the queue for those messages has of late been
getting up into the hundred or so range, 99.9% of them being SPAM. Which
is why you saw such a delay.
