Hover your mouse cursor over the calendar (2nd from the top, just below the 
hostname  in most configurations). Right click. (You can also get here by 
making GKrellm active and hitting F1 to bring up the entire configuration. 
Right-clicking just acts as a shortcut to the specific function you're 
hovering over.)

Choose the tab: Setup.

Fill in the lines: Launch Commands. 

On  my desktops I have Konqueror launch from the Calendar, and rxvt launch 
from the Clock.

CPU launches gFTP, Disk launches kdf (KDiskFree), and depending on the 
configuration, eth0 enables/disables my ethernet card.

I use Uptime at the very bottom to lock my console and launch xscreensaver.
