OK, I'm an ignorant newbie--don't even have a Linux box yet (when's the 
next installfest, anyway?), but I did notice a discrepancy between this 
line in Dave's modules.conf:

alias usb-controller1 usb-uhci


and this line in his modprobe.conf:

alias usb-controller1 uhci-hcd

uhci-hcd sorta matches a module name in the 'hosts' directory 
(uhci-hcd.ko) but usb-uhci hasn't surfaced anywhere else in this thread 
so far. I don't know enough to say if that's significant, but I thought 
it had a piscene aroma.
