I am installing Debian testing into vmware using the newest beta 4 installer.  
They have really done a nice job with it.  Smooth and simple, burn an ISO 
image, reboot (or start a VM) and boom, you are on your way.

For those that may have been a bit skittish about installing Debian, I think 
you may find it a little less intimidating with the new installer.
