Go to virtual terminal 3 and see what's up.  You have a root shell in VT 2, so 
if need be you can umount and mount media.

CTRL ALT F3
CTRL ALT F2

You may be able to salvage the install by burning another #2 and umounting the 
old media and mounting the new #2 in its place.  I have done that before.

Take a peek to see where it is barfing first by utilzing the virtual terminals

Boy, you are brave....  I haven't set aside a half day to give FC2 a go yet.  
I have a partition prepared... but no time...
