[NBLUG/talk] How to undo a yum update

Hey, everybody:

I thought I should follow up on my original post.
<http://nblug.org/pipermail/talk/2005-September/009406.html> It's been
a month or so and I finally worked up the nerve to try an update of my
xorg* packages. For anyone facing a similar problem, I suggest starting
here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bugs/XorgUpdateFix

The important info boils down to this: The package
xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU has a funky postrun script which is supposed to
help remove the old package when a new one is installed. As a result,
some people end up with 2 versions of the package. The above link
recommends doing a surgical removal of the offending package:

rpm -e --allmatches --nodeps --noscripts xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU

and then a reinstall:

	yum install xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU

I'm hoping that most people using FC4 were able to avoid this. It may
be that the offending package was introduced _after_ the package that
ships with the distro, so you can hop past the bad package if you were
to install FC4 now.
