For openers, my level of Linux knowledge is good enough to let me get a
light duty (FTP) server up and running which is then just about
forgotten (one of the reasons I love Linux). Other than that my
knowledge fads fast.
I have a server running Red Hat 9 on a Abit BE7-RAID board with some IDE
drives. I want to upgrade to a later version of Linux, but the BE7 is
not supported by newer versions, so I need to replace the
motherboard...maybe even keep the Pentium CPU (Socket 478)...and be able
to use the same IDE drives. However, when I try to find a board, I am
over whelmed...lost.
How does one go about this task?
Gratefully....
