Frankly, while I'm not interested either, in my experience when the
prosecution has the goods on someone they make sure the world knows it;
when they stop talking it usually means the case is weak or nonexistent.
Sometimes police arrest suspects in order to pressure a confession out
of them, particularly if they're not hardened criminals. In Sonoma
County there have been two recent cases, one of which was a double
murder, which went under for lack of hard evidence. I'd like to have an
idea of what they actually have on Hans before I draw a conclusion; so
far all I've heard on the media is that they found Nina's DNA in his car
and home, and that he purchased books on police forensic investigation
techniques shortly before she disappeared. If there were a body, weapon
or even evidence of a lot of blood I'd be more inclined to believe in
Hans' guilt but I hold that the state must prove guilt beyond a
reasonable doubt. I'd address the rest of this comment to Jacob
specifically: if you feel that Hans Reiser isn't being treated fairly
and needs help with legal expenses, why not put up a website
specifically to raise money and/or awareness?
