Did you try and have the BIOS auto detect the drives?

If none of the suggestions to date work, try resetting BIOS defaults.
If that doesn't work, remove the BIOS battery and fling some chicken blood
about the room.

You can always bring it to an installfest; I hear the coordinator is a very
helpful guy ;-)
