[NBLUG/talk] are there any OS projects that do something like this?

I'm not very familiar with much in the telecom world.
I was thinking about my VOIP router, and wondering if I could route an SMS
or MMS message from my cellphone to a linux server instead of my home phone?
Does anyone know of an open source project like this? Do any of the
linux-based routers provide functionality like this?
