I agree.

You might consider LUG lists to be a clever new product promotion tool
but it's going to be a really tough sell to this audience.

I myself definitely work for "the man", on a closed source,
proprietary, for pay product.  It uses open source tools under the
hood, so while I might call myself an open source developer in a hazy
kind of way, I sure as hell wouldn't try to promote it on this list.
