Personally, I've used linode for almost a year. They're awesome, and
let you do almost anything with your server, but at 20/mo for their
lowest end, may not be what you're looking for. They let you select
almost any OS, and multiple image configurations. I've also had 100%
uptime... I'm hosting 1 high traffic and several low-traffic sites on
mine.
