Hmm, just saw this...it's not a bad idea for nearline storage, esp. if
you were to build it with some kind of RAID redundancy...

If you did use RAID, you would have to export your dataset from another
system, though, unless you were to use some kind of clustering fs...I
dunno, seems like it would be easier to just bring up an EC2 instance. ;)
