[NBLUG/talk] thought I'd ask here also - Anyone have any experience with LTSP?

Maybe I missed the answer, but what distro and what version? If it's
running an older kernel, it may not be taking full advantage of all of
the CPU's.

A few weeks ago I was testing out some similarly powerful machines (20
hyperthreaded CPU's and 32GB RAM) with different versions of CentOS,
and I discovered that the kernel that comes with CentOS 5.x (which
some of our customers still use) struggles to take advantage of lots
of cores. On CentOS 6.5 and 7.0 I could easily get 40 CPU-intensive
processes to run at near 100% utilization, but on CentOS 5 each
process seemed to top out at 25% (and load average was comparable to
the newer OS'es).
