<p dir="ltr">For what it's worth, the last few times I've tried to upgrade Ubuntu, I've had similar frustrations, ranging from being unable to print to being unable to boot without a rescue disc. A few months ago, I finally gave up and installed CentOS 6 instead. Admittedly it has older versions of many packages and doesn't update very quickly, but I've had far fewer headaches since switching.</p>
