<p>You could always setup an extra disk with RAID configuration for faster access or redundancy too, considering the hardware mentioned being a factor and the fact that your last disk was beeping by the time you replaced it.</p>

others). Actual hardware specs will probably impact your media consuming<br>
ability much more than the filesystem used on storage medium. Also,<br>
think about the future - set it up with LVM if you can as that would<br>
allow for easy adding of storage devices to the current volume without<br>
much headache if/when you run out of room.<br>
