<div dir="auto"><div>I can't offer a lot of specific advice, but here's some general information:<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Social media sites in general are ratcheting up the bar for creating new accounts. Just because a phone number was optional for creating an account a year ago, doesn't mean that it's optional now.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">In general, you can't trust Facebook to keep information private. That said, they *seem* good about keeping contact information private. I'm personally not too worried about handing over contact information.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div>Now, if your goal is to reach out to someone and make it inpossible for that person to identify you, Facebook is not a great avenue.
